Webinar – From Shape Optimization to Additive Manufacturing

How would it be that the designer to be able to create from the beginning the lighter possible part, for specific material and certain manufacturing process, to meet a certain role into an assembly and to resist under the applied loads?

The answer to this question is already on the 3DExperience platform from Dassault Systemes. Here, the designer, with the 3D Compass in his hand, can share his idea with other people which can work together to create the correct solution, using specific data with the right application.

The applications described on this video are addressed to the designer, to create from start the optimum part, in this case for Additive Manufacturing.

The whole optimization process is done into a single application running within the 3Dexperince platform, which in this case is on the cloud. The process is done without any file conversion and so without information lose. (more…)

MSC APEX – Mat. Dr. Ing. Mircea Bocioaga, Senior FEA Technical Specialist

MSC Apex is a last generation software that allows finite elements analysis for many components and complex structures.

This innovative program was created to be easy-to-learn and easy-to-use by engineers in finite element analysis applications. The program, based on MSC Software Corporation’s years of experience, allows the user to dramatically reduce the modelling time from day to hours of work. Also, by using the very efficient FEA solver associated to the program, it is possible to optimize the computer resources, by automatically dividing the model in superelements. This way the running time to solve a model is also reduced. (more…)

Dassault Systèmes’ “Perfect Product” and “Perfect Package” Industry Solution Experiences Will Reach 18,000 Users Worldwide

VELIZY-VILLACOUBLAY, France – April 26, 2017 — Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), the 3DEXPERIENCE Company, world leader in 3D design software, 3D Digital Mock Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced that the Procter & Gamble Company (P&G), one of the world’s largest consumer packaged goods companies, is using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.  P&G is deploying Dassault Systèmes’ “Perfect Product” and “Perfect Package” industry solution experiences to connect thousands of users to data, colleagues and consumers.  This accelerates and improves the company’s packaging and product design, requirements management and program management.

Consumer packaged goods is a fast-paced, competitive marketplace in which most purchase decisions are made in a matter of seconds. Companies must quickly deliver new materials, formulations and packaging that distinguish a product in the marketplace, contribute to a strong and reliable brand image, and inspire consumers to make – and repeat – a purchase.

P&G, a longtime customer of Dassault Systèmes’ design, development and simulation applications, manages 10 product categories and 65 brands in more than 80 countries. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform helps P&G to leverage its scale with greater agility to innovate, efficiently manage and accelerate product programs in the context of short product lifecycles, fluctuating costs of raw materials, and highly variable consumer demand.

“Our decision to upgrade our existing Dassault Systèmes’ PLM to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is part of our work to digitally transform our business to support our work process digital transformation and drive value,” said Jean-Louis Hospitel, IT Director, P&G. “The 3DEXPERIENCE platform facilitates end-to-end innovation integration and improved user experience for our seamless technical community.” (more…)

ESI to Unveil New Virtual Reality Developments at GPU Technology Conference 2017

Paris, France – May 2, 2017 – ESI Group, leading innovator in Virtual Prototyping software and services for manufacturing industries, will present its latest Virtual Reality (VR) developments at the upcoming GPU Technology Conference (GTC) (booth 708), scheduled May 8-11 in the Silicon Valley, California. Working with NVIDIA, ESI has greatly improved its VR solution tailored for industrial use. The latest release, ESI IC.IDO 11.1, benefits from this action and will be unveiled at GTC 2017; providing visitors with opportunity to experience the new release and learn about proposed future innovations.

In February, ESI announced ESI IC.IDO 11, developed using aspects of the NVIDIA VRWorks SDK. This past release featured an NVIDIA Quadro-enabled rendering framework, making it compatible with consumer and enterprise Head-Mounted Displays (HMDs).

“This improvement is a real breakthrough for engineers developing innovative products,” says Eric Kam, Product Marketing Manager at ESI Group. “They can now benefit from independent product-process evaluations in a natural and immersive manner without necessarily needing more elaborate infrastructure such as a VR CAVE or powerwall. At the same time, IC.IDO 11 offers great interoperability, so HMD users can perform in-process integration validations and collaborate on product/process design reviews with remote teams who may use existing VR infrastructures.”
