Earlier this year, MSC Software released its new CoSim engine developed to provide a co-simulation interface for the direct coupling of different solvers/disciplines within a multiphysics framework. The CoSim newest version enables engineers to set up co-simulation models between MSC’s Adams multibody dynamics (MBD), Marc (FEA), and scFLOW (CFD) applications, and covers a wide range of industrial-scale applications. The CoSim engine offers improved accuracy, precision and performance for complex multiphysics applications.

MSC CoSim interface (co-simulator) has been developed making use of the knowledge of Adams, Marc, and scFLOW application software to achieve an efficient co-simulation.

– Adams is a multi-body dynamics simulation tool used to study the dynamics of moving parts, and how loads and forces are distributed throughout mechanical systems.
– Marc is a powerful, general-purpose nonlinear finite element analysis solution to accurately simulate the product behavior under static, dynamic and multi-physics loading scenarios. Marc’s versatility in modeling nonlinear material behaviors and transient environmental conditions makes it ideal to solve complex design problems.
– scFLOW is a CFD tool used for thermo-fluid analysis with polyhedral mesh.MSC CoSim interface (co-simulator) has been developed making use of the knowledge of Adams, Marc, and scFLOW application software to achieve an efficient co-simulation.
